Coaching

We can provide group or individual coaching for our club members. We have a range of coaches available to provide coaching for those just starting out, through to intermediate and advanced.

All  Coaches are experienced and have passed a current Working With Children Check.

Some of the coaching we provide at the club is free, while other fees are on a per school term basis. You don’t have to take up coaching, but it helps!

Playing chess regularly is a great addition to regular lessons – you learn most from your mistakes!

For our juniors, we take seriously the development of our beginner and learning chess students: we provide a number of opportunities and varying lessons suited to the student’s chess skill levels. Our aim is to build the new students up to a level where they can graduate to the senior/advanced ranks.

Junior coaching takes place at the club on Thursday nights in Tarneit & Friday night in Point Cook. It usually consists of instruction, review of what they have previously learnt, followed by game playing to see how well they are remembering their lessons. It is kept fun and interesting!
